Olympics FTW

So one of the families who come to our gym, the dad competed in the Olympics on the Hockey team and brought home a bronze medal! The mom brought it in to share with us and I even go to hold it! I was so stoked!

Just Keep Swimming

It's been so hard to find work lately and as I've said before, God has never challenged me more than he has right now. It's been a tough past couple of months but I have to believe I'll get to where I want to be and reach my goal of being a professional photographer. There is still a ton for me to learn but if my past is any indication of where I'm going, I know I'll get there. Until then, I have to keep doing what the wise Dory once said, just keep swimming.

Crazy Kids

So the one strange thing about being a dance teacher and really just working with kids, is that almost every week you find little surprises on your phone or iPod or laptop!

Love them! They definitely are always keeping me on my toes!

Sasha Fierce

Today, J and I went back to the park by her house to take some pictures. The view from there is pretty nice and there's some nice greenery around. As you already know, I love taking pics of her and I'm lucky to have the best model ever as my girlfriend!

Inner Beyonce

Switched things up a bit and stepped out from behind the lens. Met up with my homie, Philip, to take some pictures around Long Beach. I've never actually wandered around there but I definitely plan on going back because there are definitely some amazing spots to take pictures. Here's one of the pics from today's shoot where I had to channel my inner Sasha Fierce.

Sock Game

This picture makes me smile. :) It's probably one of my favorite shots from yesterday. Isn't it a fact that 95% of all socks lose their partner? That was the case for J yesterday as she couldn't find a matching pair of socks and had wing it. I love you, baby!

Mall Daze

Had another fun day off with J as today was her only day off of the week! I wanted to go to Balboa Island since I've never been there before. We walked around for a bit and saw a bunch of really cool vacation homes.

After about an hour of walking around and taking pictures, we headed to Fashion Island mall and did some shopping - err at least J did!

Probably the most excited part of the day was when J popped my Lemonade cherry! For those of you who don't know, Lemonade is a nice spot that focuses on healthy grab-n-go food. All the food is fresh and flavorful. My favorite dish was probably the truffle mac & cheese. I'd give it a two thumbs up and would highly recommend it!

Sunset Daze

Drove up to San Marcos to hang out with my homie Blaise. We headed up to Double Peak Park and saw the sunset together - I know, so romantic. It's definitely a nice couple spot and I plan on taking J there sometime soon to take pictures. Stay tuned for that.

After the sun went down, we headed to the Vista/Oceanside area for some super good Guamanian food at Guahan Grill.

The first time I've ever had Guamanian food, I didn't know I was eating it, but I absolutely LOVE it. We ate some Chicken Kelaguen w/ red rice and some BBQ. If you've never had Guamanian food, I strongly suggest you do so! You won't regret it!

Dance Dance!

As much as I complain about always being busy and always working, I truly love my job! It's really the  perks of it and the effect I get to make on these kids lives. I love these little nuggets and they honestly are the best things about this job!

Golf Daze

Found time today to head up to Del Mar and hit up the golf range over there. It was actually pretty cold & overcast by the coast where we were compared to other parts of San Diego where it was nice & sunny.

I'd never actually been there before and I'd say it's average compared to a lot of the other places I've been to. One of the upsides is we were able to practice our "short game" for free and that's where we spent most of our time.

Here Comes the Bride!

Today we celebrated my Aunt and Uncle's wedding renewal and we had SUCH A BLAST! Not really much to say but that I absolutely love and adore my family and live for the days we all get together. Can't wait to do it all again!

Showstopper!

Day two of competition with my soloists! Got here at 10am and our last awards won't start until after 10pm. It's been a long day but I really love my girls!

Lovers Awareness Day

Happy Valentine's Day to all you lovebirds! J and I had a fun day today that started off but nowhere else but Bear Flag! No surprise here.

Afterwards, we went to Downtown Disney where we went to eat some churros, shop for my niece, and watch J's dance kids compete at the Showstopper's Dance Competition. There were some crazyyyy talented young dancers there and also some interesting/questionable choices for costumes. 

On our way back to the parking lot we were able to see some of the fireworks, thus making a great end to our night!
