Blaze Pizza Yelp Elite Event!

I was asked to take pictures at another Yelp Event and it was super fun! This time, I headed down to Carlsbad to take pictures at the new Blaze Pizza.

There are a ton of hot-oven-chipotle-styled-build-your-own pizza places opening up but I think Blaze Pizza is by far the best. Their prices are reasonable and everything is fresh. If you haven't already, be sure to make your way down to one of their locations. And if there isn't one near you, have no fear, they are expanding FAST and plan on opening a ton of new locations within the next year.

Tons of fun outside!

Meet...

SCOOTER!
He's a miniature long wire haired weiner dog :)
He's technically our mom's dog, and she's been up here a lot visiting and spending some time with us.
I believe he's about 10 years old now, but he still acts like a silly little puppy.
Isn't he the cutest?

Victoria Beach

I've been wanting to take some pics at this spot for awhile now and we finally had time to go on a little adventure today! This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and J made me promise her we'd go back there soon.

The beach itself is pretty secluded, as there aren't too many tourists running around, and it has the makings of a great hang out spot with friends, family, significant others, etc. It was pretty gloomy today, so that probably helped in clearing out the beach.

Towards the very end of the beach there is an old tower that looks like something straight from the Medieval Times. I've seen a lot of great engagement pictures taken there and I was pretty excited to take some shots. Even though my shoes got completely soaked, it was definitely worth it to take some great pics of my love!

3.28.14

Love taking pics with this little one. Wish I could do this all day, every day. Now if only we could get her to wake up before noon... :)

Yeah, you model that rock, baby!

Tried to catch the wind blowing her dress.

Someone likes her new Free People vest.

TBT

Just a little throwback thursday to what basically was our first date back in 2012! He attempted to teach me to skateboard around my neighborhood and I snapped this cool pic of him :)

Love him.
Love us.

Counting down...

the days until we go to HAWAII! Work is slowly killing me, some times I seriously feel like I'm working 3 different jobs… all at once! My life is a little insane, though I kind of do love the chaos!

I've got competitions, showcases, gym wide shows, recital and nationals all to think about… and coordinate. So when we finally get to head out of town, I'm really really going to enjoy it!

Especially this!

I can't wait to get some time with my boo thang :)

KIA Classic

Marc and I spent our afternoon at the Aviara Golf Club to watch the women of the LPGA practice for this weekend's KIA Classic. It was pretty awesome to see so many of the top players in the world smashing golfballs and nailing putts that would make any average golfer, such as myself, jealous.

Right when we got there we saw Michelle Wie who, in case you didn't know, turned pro at the age of SIXTEEN and has been killin' it on the tour ever since. She's probably one of my favorite LPGA golfers and she's also sponsored by one of my favorite brands, Nike, AND she's from Hawaii. What's not to love?

Here's a pic of Inbee Park. She is the number one ranked LPGA player in the world and has one of the most consistent drives I've ever seen.

This is Lydia Ko. She is only SIXTEEN years old and has already won FIVE Tour events. She is seriously a prodigy and already ranks number four in the world. Man, what am I doing with my life? Haha.

This is probably my favorite picture of the day and exemplifies why I love golfing so much. Golf is definitely an individual sport and your success is ultimately dictated by how well you can swing a club and hit a golfball into a hole in the ground; BUT it's also a social sport where great company, breathtaking backgrounds, and unforgettable conversations can make for some pretty awesome memories.

Crazy & Fun

Some of my kids are just plain crazy and sometimes we aren't able to get as much dancing done as we should! But at least it's always fun! :)

Got to spend some time with my dance family! I don't get to see them that often, so it's always a blast when we're all together!

Father/Daughter Dance

Decided to attempt a father/daughter routine for recital this year! It means giving up my Saturdays but it's oh so entertaining! The greatest part is the memories that these girls get to make with their dads. I love it and it takes me back to when I was doing these with my dad.

Ramen Night

My brother leaves for Israel tomorrow, where he's going to get to train for a week with one of the dance companies that he admires. So mom and I are taking him out for dinner :)

Ok, for some weird reason… I never get Ramen. Mom and B both got some, but it just never sounds all that appetizing to me. Oh well! Katsu Curry FTW! <3

Finally Legal!

My baby sister turned 21 this past Saturday! And since I was at competition and she had her shows, we really weren't able to celebrate at all! So tonight after work, I was finally able to take her out and celebrate a little bit!
She's so pretty :)

Let's get Naked!

We were back in Cbad today, since J's car wasn't ready to be picked up yesterday. We took advantage of another morning together and went to Naked Cafe! We've been wanting to go there for a long time and the food was GREAT. On top of that, the weather was beautiful and there were a lot of other people - pets included - out enjoying the sun.

After brunch, we headed back home and took a couple test shots for my photo gig this Sunday. Here's a pic of J getting some quick exercise in before she heads to work!

Beach Break

Finally got a chance to head down to Cbad w/ J. The bad news is we had to take J's Slug to the auto shop to get her wheel bearings replaced. The good news is we ate breakfast at one of her favorite spots, Beach Break Cafe. A tummy full of good food = happy J.

Bare Bones 2014

I know J wrote a post about her brother & sister's performance but I think it's definitely worth posting about it again. It was THAT GOOD.

I brought my camera and snapped some photos of their performance today. I haven't seen such a raw, emotional, and well thought out piece like this in awhile. It was even more emotional since I know them personally and the story behind their piece but I'm positive everyone in the audience was captivated by Bret & Lani's dedication to Grandpa Suzuki & his companion, Tomi. I know I was. I may have even shed a little tear - just one - at the very end.

"How old are you today?"

Today I went back to UCI to watch my youngest siblings perform in Bare Bones, this show is special since it's all run by the undergraduates and volunteers. Lani and Bret got together to choreograph a truly beautiful piece, that literally brought me to tears tonight. The piece was titled, "How old are you today?" and was dedicated to both of our Grandfathers, Roy & Bob and our pseudo grandmother, Tomi.
All three of these people have made profound impacts and cared for us in our lives as children and then we found ourselves in reverse roles as adults. I loved seeing these emotions put into movement and immortalized on the stage. Watching both of them on stage tonight took me back to both happy and sad moments. That's one of the greatest things about dance, it can make you feel something so great and it can back down memory lane. So proud of these two, they truly are such amazing individuals.

Yelp Elite!

Had the chance to take pictures yesterday for Yelp down in Del Mar. Yelp puts on a ton of different events for their Elite members and last night's event was at Cinépolis to do a private screening of the new 300 movie. If you've never been, you should definitely check out the theater. They have the most comfortable reclining seats and pretty good food that is delivered right to your seat. Actually, on second thought, you probably shouldn't go because you'll never want to watch a movie any other way.
