Three Amigos!

I'm so fortunate to have met these two guys. I've only known them for about 3 months but they've quickly become two of my favorite people. They're so down to earth, genuinely great guys, and extremely humble and it was easy to get along with them.

Joe is a little older, 40+ years old to be exact, but he's probably in better shape than I am right now. He's a business owner and has been such a wealth of knowledge for someone like me who is trying to start my own small business. 

Taylor is a rockstar and used to manage the biggest Vans retail store and helped coordinate some of their big events, including the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach. He's currently working on his own clothing line and we recently partnered up on one of his shoots.

I couldn't have asked to be working with a better group of guys. Can't wait to see what lies ahead of us!

Move!

Today was Day 1 of out last regional dance competition. Drove all the way up to Pasadena, to find that they were running an hour and a half behind schedule. I'm pretty fed up with this competition... They never respond to emails, they give you the run-around when you finally call, they got out the schedule only 3 days before the competition and then changed the schedule and sent out a new one the afternoon before. It's not the best start to my weekend... But luckily I've got my cuties to keep my company, along with my old studio!

Now time to order some room service and hit the pillows early!

I always love spending time in my hometown… though it has gotten more and more tourist-y in the past few years. It's nice to find those secluded spots to enjoy the scenery :)

Bang, Bang!

Lani's boyfriend, Alec, got us all playing this card game, Bang! At first it didn't sound very interesting but it's a pretty darn fun game. I'm sure we'll be playing this game, along with League of Legends, all the time now.

Today we remembered those who risked their lives for us and celebrated the birthd of my father! No school or work for most of us. So I was able to spend a lot of time with my siblings!

We even went out to dinner with my dad and they busted out a crown and some funky music to sing to him! It was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing! He'll probably never let us take him out again... But it was sooo worth it!

BOLT!⚡️ he's my new baby! 2013 Honda Fit! We decided to go look at some cars but then I absolutely fell in love and just couldn't leave without him! I can't wait for all the new adventures we will go on!

Cal Elite Kids Photo Shoot!

Took pictures with more of the girls from J's studio. This time around we took Lauren, Irene, and Julia to Laguna to take some pics! Just like the last group of girls we worked with, these three were so much fun and great to work with. I can't express enough how much I love working with all of her girls and how great they all are. I love Fridays! I either work early and get off early or I don't have to work at all! Today was a get in early, get out early kind of day! But unfortunately, E started work just as I was getting off. Our schedules just kind of suck that way… But now we are both home and chillaxin' :)

I Love Musubi

Finally had  a chance to drive down to SD today and hang out with some of my bros. We've been thinking of ideas for some startup businesses and the food industry is obviously one of the things we've talked about. Today, we tried to make some deconstructed musubis inspired by Uncle's Kitchen in Hawaii. If you're ever on the islands, I'd definitely recommend hitting up Uncle's Kitchen for some bomb-ass musubis! 

Our attempt was somewhat of a failure but it still tasted great for our first try. Can't wait to try our next recipe.

Shweepy Baby J

She's probably going to kill me for posting these pictures but it's always so much fun messing with J while she sleeps! She loves sleeping in until noon and I used to try everything in my power to get her up earlier but I think I've given up on that and just accepted that J really likes her sleep. I've even accepted the fact that she takes up soooo much space on the bed. You'd think for someone so small, she'd take up less space. I was super wrong on that one.

No Monday Blues

So after a crazy weekend full of shows and crazy kids, I'm still exhausted. I think I slept for almost 12 hours too! I haven't gotten out of my PJ's yet, but I do have a brand new keurig that my mom got me for an early birthday present!

I'm a very happy girl now!

Spring Show!

So twice a year, we hold these Gym wide shows at Cal Elite. We include almost everyone from the gym, including our dancers from preschool to team, gymnastics, aerial arts, tumbling, cheer, and we even get our academic preschoolers and kindergarteners up there! This year we did Charlotte's Web, and I was a little nervous about it. We decided to change up the seating arrangements and not just use the stage, but the cheer floor as well. So we had audience members sitting in a U shape around the floor, where they could see both the stage and the floor. The first couple of shows were kind of rough, since we don't get a dress rehearsal, but by the 13th show we had it down!

Party Time

So E & I barely have time to hang out these days, with our completely opposite work schedules. But tonight we were able to celebrate with a group of our friends, since my old roommate/his old teammate graduated from Med School! Ridiculously cool and I'm so proud of her! We were a bit too preoccupied with finally seeing everyone and catching up, that we didn't take any pictures together. But it was still an amazing night getting to see old faces again! Here's the only photo I have from tonight!

OCSA Seniors

So tonight I went to see one of my very first Cal Elite students perform in her last high school dance show. This show was very cool, since it was the Orange County School of the Arts, Senior Student Choreography Show. My student, Amanda has really come into her own with her choreography the last couple of years and I'm so proud of all that she has accomplished. She'll be attending UCLA in the fall, so luckily she won't be too far away!

Seriously, the hardest part of being a teacher is letting them go. I could barely contain my tears during her routine, and it'll be very hard to imagine not seeing her every week this next year.

My Favorite Niece

I haven't seen my niece in about a month and I miss her sooooo much! I finally had a chance to FaceTime her and I swear she gets bigger every time I see her. I guess that's normal though for a one and a half year old.

Chef Beezy!

Ever since I moved up here and started living in Orange County, I have been doing a lot of cooking. That's partly because I want to learn how to cook more and because J doesn't have the patience to cook. 

Tonight I went to Trader Joe's and bought a ton of groceries. I saw some recipes for BBQ chicken paninis, tuna sandwiches in pita bread pockets, and a few other things. They didn't have all the ingredients, so I'll have to go back and buy them some other day, but I definitely plan on making those soon. Instead of making one of those, I opted for a basic pepperoni pizza bagel. It was super quick and easy but delicious nonetheless!

Belated Mother's Day Post :)

Forgot to post this yesterday! Ooops! Sorry mom! 

Woke up early to drive down to Carlsbad with my youngest two siblings. Had a slightly dramatic time figuring out where to eat, since my mom just couldn't seem to pick which restaurant that she wanted to go to. So we drove around for a bit, good thing I didn't drive! I got to nap in the back seat! haha :) We ended up at Broken Yolk and had a really yummy breakfast, it was totally worth the 25 minute wait… well kinda. I mean, at least we had wonderful company! 

Then we took pictures… KnockOut style, of course :)

New Toy!

I've been wanting this Intuos tablet for a while now and I finally pulled the trigger. I'm hoping this will make editing a little more fun/easy and help with my workflow. I'll let you know how I like it!

40 years

Tonight I went to Kababayan's 40th year anniversary gala with a group if my friends from college. It was seriously such a great time to catch up and get to see everyone!
